Hailing from the opposite ends of the world, ASTARIUM (Russia) and FIRE MESSIAH (USA) teamed up on this cassette in order to create a really catchy synth heavy/ black metal work. Focused on such themes like Northern mythology, cruelty and vengeance, each of the bands brings its own unique interpretation, breathing life into the stinking corpse of contemporary black metal. At the same time, the whole material sounds stylistically integral and solid, without breaking up into separate parts. ASTARIUM use old-school black metal approach enriched with symphonic and atmospheric elements to chant the praises of the gods of the frosty pantheon: the first part of the split includes hymns to Morena, the giants of Niflheim and Vendigo roaming between the worlds. FIRE MESSIAH add a good share of raw punk rock to their black metal, while the use of synthesizers and symphonic elements forms the foundation for their songs about inevitable day of reckoning, death and loss of humanism in this world.

US Black Metal. Some fantastic ideas here for this debut! Having said that, unfortunately the vocals do not come out loud & clear which is a shame. But the music is great & multilayered & requires a few listens to fully absorb. Oh and the riffs are out of this world! Love the cover too :) Recommended! bmurator

It's really good! Listen to that darkness. How haunting and terrifying. Tortured souls seeking fresh meat to devour. I run away because I'm scared. Guitar chugging like a locomotive! 🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃 Michael

US Black Metal. A one man, Keeper of the Glyph (Artemis Orland), band. Some extremely catchy moments & unforgetable melodies here. I would like to call it polished raw BM because the vocals are quite raw & very haunting but the overall feel is more rounded than usual raw BM... :) Great album! Thanks Glyph! Recommended!!! bmurator
